FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many chargers can we install under the $20k rebate cap?

The number of chargers that can be installed depends on factors like charger type, electrical infrastructure, and installation complexity. For example, under a $20k budget, a dealership could install multiple 22kW AC chargers, while a DC fast charger may require additional investment. We can provide a tailored quote to help maximise your rebate.

What is the difference between AC and DC Chargers?

AC (Alternating Current) chargers are commonly used for overnight or slower charging, making them ideal for dealerships charging display or service vehicles. They typically range from 7kW to 22kW and use the vehicle’s onboard charger to convert AC power to DC for battery storage.

DC (Direct Current) chargers, also known as fast chargers, provide direct power to the EV battery, reducing charging time significantly. These are best for rapid turnaround, making them ideal for service departments, test drives, and customer charging stations. The DRIVEN rebate can help cover the cost of both AC and DC installations.

What areas do you service?

Platinum Electricians provides nationwide installation services across Australia.

Can we offer EV charging to customers and staff? Yes! Many dealerships are installing EV chargers for test drives, customer use, and staff charging. The DRIVEN rebate supports installations that improve dealership EV readiness and help customers experience charging firsthand.
Can I install more than one charger? Yes! Businesses can claim up to $2,500 per charger for multiple installations.
Will I need additional electrical work?

Our team will conduct a site assessment and let you know if any upgrades are required before installation.
