PROJECT INFORMATION

Platinum Electricians completed the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Anglicare Castle Hill. The project aimed to provide convenient and efficient EV charging solutions for the Anglicare community while ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

TECHINICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Charger Model: Landis and Gyr Dual 22kW Pedestal Charger.
  • Power Supply: 2 x 22kW AC
  • Features:
    - 3Phase charging
    - Stainless steel dual charger pedestal
    - Credit card payment terminal
    - Secure payment system

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Pre-commissioned and installed software offsite.
  • Supplied and installed 1 x Dual 22kW Landis and Gyr Pedestal Charger (surface mount pedestal).
  • Implemented 2 x Nayax subscriptions for one-year billing software.
  • Installed 4G data SIM for managing billing operations.
  • Supplied and installed 1 x 63A MCCB.
  • Laid approximately 65 metres of 150mm cable tray through the car park.
  • Installed 150mm cable tray with cover alongside planter box to the charger location.
  • Hired Elevated Work Platform (EWP) for installation.
  • Performed core hole drilling through the wall in the garden, with fire seal penetration.
  • Provided an external enclosure for control gear.
  • Conducted thorough testing and commissioning.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS


Challenge: Ensuring reliable data communication for billing. 
Solution: Integrated a 4G data SIM and Nayax subscription to enable remote billing management.


Challenge: Running cable through an operational car park. 
Solution: Installed 65 meters of cable tray efficiently, minimising disruption to the site.


Challenge: Safeguarding control gear in an outdoor environment. 
Solution: Installed an external enclosure to protect sensitive equipment.

  • Efficient Charging Infrastructure: The dual 22kW charger allows simultaneous charging of two vehicles, enhancing convenience for users.
  • Seamless Billing Management: Nayax's system ensures easy tracking and billing of energy usage.
  • Future-Ready Setup: The installation supports remote management, maintenance, and scalability for future needs.
