PROJECT INFORMATION

This project was part of the flood recovery efforts of a local Council in the Brisbane region, aimed at repairing damage caused by the 2022 floods to a section of the street light cable along the Bicentennial Bikeway and Pedestrian Walkway.

Platinum redesigned the installation, which involved re-cabling the section of the streetlights that were affected by the floods. To achieve this, the cable joins were be moved from inside the junction boxes and relocated to the inspection plates at a higher point in the light poles.

Scope of Works:

Obtained traffic permit and provided traffic control for the work area
Set up scaffolding and under bridge unit - MBI50 Crawler UBIU
Modified existing conduit and junction boxes to accommodate a 50mm conduit and seal afterwards
Ran 2 x 16mm2 Twin flat XLPE/PVC copper and 2 x 16mm2 earth conductors without any joins in the boxes
Installed two new circuits, each with RCBO protection
Provided overload protection, and an approved methodology of termination at the access panel in each pole
Completed works at night when required due to traffic permit requirements.
